What Does the Process Look Like?
Typically, commissions take several weeks into several months. It depends on the amount of time I have to paint. Because of my busy schedule with the kids, the summer is typically not the best time to ask about a commission.
Here is a general outline of the process:
- Initial Step: Fill out the google form. Then schedule an initial meeting. The initial meeting can be in-person or via zoom or telephone. In this meeting, we discuss what parts of my style you resonate with and what pieces I have done in the past that you like. I can measure for the piece in-person or you can provide measurements of the space where art is needed.
- Next Step: I will come up with a sketch of the new piece. Probably both on paper and a digital mock-up on your wall. We will meet to review the sketches and I'll get feedback from you about how the piece works with your needs.
- Final steps: Final photos, framing and/or delivery. I'll take final photos and send them to you for feedback. If you want the piece framed, I can meet you at a frame shop to help select the best option.
