Recently, I had a very special client who entrusted me to do her home portrait in a new way. Before this one, I had typically done house portraits solely in watercolor.

But in recent months, I have been working with acrylic over watercolor. My client liked the way those were looking so we decided to give it a go on her house portrait. Here is an example of one of those pieces:

So I began! I did the watercolor house portrait first, then added accents in gold and silver leaf. Then finished it up with a layer of acrylic paint.

Then the final product!
This piece was such a rewarding reminder of why I love what I do. Each commission is an opportunity to explore something new and create a one-of-a-kind work of art. Blending watercolor with acrylic allowed me to push my process in a different direction, layering softness with texture and detail in a way that felt both challenging and exciting. I’m so grateful for clients who trust me to experiment and bring their vision to life, it’s what makes every home portrait truly unique!

If you or someone you know would like your own special commission, you can send me an inquiry and I would be more than happy to discuss your vision.
